Summary. Electrostatics, as long rang interactions with abundant presence, are critical in determining structures and functions of biomolecules. Structural biologists inevitably consider the effect of electrostatics in studying protein folding, protein interaction, ion-channels etc. Meanwhile, attracted by electrostatics related scientific significances and computational challenges, numerical analysts actively seek numerical methods for accurate and efficient computation. These methods include fast algorithms in evaluating N-body electrostatic interactions, as well as numerical techniques in solving the Poisson-­‐Boltzmann model governing electrostatics. This mini-­‐symposium aims to bring together diverse experts, whose research areas are tightly connected with electrostatics, to present work, exchange ideas and establish potential collaboration.
