NIMBioS Signs Partnership with Tennessee State University

NIMBioS has signed a new minority-serving institution partnership with Tennessee State University to promote diversity in math and science. As part of the agreement, NIMBioS-affiliated scientists will visit TSU, give seminars and talk about opportunities at NIMBioS. TSU faculty and students will also receive priority consideration for participating in NIMBioS programs. Already, NIMBioS has had four TSU participants in our programs, and we expect the collaboration to lead to many more in the future. TSU is a public university located in Nashville and is a designated historically black college and university or HBCU. HBCUs are institutions of higher education in the United States that were established before 1964 with the intention of serving the black community. There are 105 HBCUs in the United States today. NIMBioS has partnerships with four other minority-serving institutions to foster collaboration in areas of research, science and education.
