Summary. The mechanical aspects of cell life processes, such as force generation, mechano-transduction, cell migration, and cell shape change, are crucial for maintaining normal cell survival and functions. However, the complexity and scale of the cell make it challenging to conduct experimental research on these subjects. Thus, mathematical methods can provide valuable insights. In this minisymposium we present various mathematical models based on the theories of elasticity, fluid dynamics, and transport to address cellular blebbing, cell motility, complex flows in tissues, and mechanical factors leading to microtubule rearrangement.
